Short History and Our Objectives

Establishment of TÜTSİS :

TÜTSİS was first founded by 8 industrial establishments in Istanbul under the name “İstanbul Tekstil Sanayii İşverenleri Sendikası” (Istanbul Textile Employers’ Association) on January 2, 1961.

The association has been conducting its activities under the name TURKISH TEXTILE EMPLOYERS’ ASSOCIATION (TÜTSİS) since February 13, 1962 by transforming itself into a Turkey-wide organization only after one year from its foundation upon receiving an immense interest from textile industrialists with its worthwhile services aimed at common interests of its members and realizing a mutual support that had been yearned for years.

Objectives of TÜTSİS : 

TÜTSİS conducts its activities in order to attain the following objectives: 

· To maintain and improve the common economic and social rights and interests of the member employers active in textile business in their working relations, within the frame of the legislation.
Resolving the conflicts arising within the member companies, according to the principles applicable to all its members and with equal applications is one of the fundamental objectives of our Association.

· To ensure the member employers help one another, 

Besides ensuring the work peace which is the fundamental task of our Association, TÜTSİS conducts surveys, organizes educational meetings within the country and abroad, arranges trips or helps its members to benefit from similar organized activities being aware of the fact that it is necessary for its members to know about all the innovations constantly within Turkey that is growing rapidly and opening out to the world. 

 

· To assist the members to work efficiently and harmoniously,

TÜTSİS endeavors to introduce services and create a community for its members in the best way with its conscious and experienced management and specialized staff. 

 

· To represent the member companies,

TÜTSİS considers protecting the common economical interests and legal rights of its members as its fundamental duty and to do this it represents its members before legislative, executive and judicial agencies. 

 

· To conclude collective bargaining agreements,

Our Association represents its members before labor unions, arranges the industrial relations and concludes collective bargaining agreements. 

TÜTSİS is the first employers’ association in Turkey which concludes group contracts with labor unions without discrimination in terms of working and employing conditions. 

 

· To establish and maintain work peace,

TÜTSİS complies with the principles of justice, equality, establishing and maintaining work peace during collective bargaining negotiations. However, when a strike or lockout is unavoidable, the Association provides financial support from its strike fund to the member companies at the highest level. To do this TÜTSİS makes daily payments to its members of an amount of three times the monthly contribution during strikes or lockouts. 

 

· To carry out its activities throughout Turkey with these objectives.

TÜTSİS believes that not only labor unions but also the employers’ associations must get organized and developed in order for the basic policies related to the working life to be formed and developed within a sound structure and in a balanced way.
